I was searching for the real meaning of politics and ended up
writing this. Everyone talks about the development of nation only during the
time of election, whether they are politicians or the citizens. Election in our
country is like big festive occasion as we are the largest democracy on this
planet. So there is kind of euphoria every five year when national election
(lok sabha) is held. Politicians go in their area campaigning for their party,
doing rallies and prominent members of the party giving impressive speeches.
Large number of people attends these campaigns and rallies
to hear the new promises that their representative is supposed to do. Every
person participating there has new hope in their heart, new dreams in their
mind, that this time new govt will fulfill all the promises they had done. After
results, all hopes and dreams go in vain with passing time and life come back
to same point where people start blaming govt for all the social things. Govt officials
also forget many promises from their manifesto after fulfilling some to show
the people that they are working for us. Those politicians who had gone at
every door for vote, after coming into power make distance from citizen and it
become very hard for civilians to contact them and convey their problem. Here politics
is converted into ‘Pollute-Tricks’.
We people are more responsible for this miss-happening every
time because we get easily convinced by the fake promises and vote in favor of
them who had given most impressive speeches and used attractive slogans in
campaign. We have to become aware now and raise our voices. We have to evaluate
every candidate before voting. Don’t vote on the basis of party or promises,
but to vote on the merit of candidate (no matter whichever party he/she belong).
If any candidate does big promises, immediately raise your voice to find how it
will be fulfilled. Remember your awareness will prevent all people from your
area to get cheated by fake promises.
After the formation of govt, it’s our right to get whatever
was promised, and this is only possible when we remind govt of their manifesto
time to time if they are not fulfilling it. It’s our voice that will bring
change in society otherwise, every time there will be two manifesto of the
govt. ,first is citizen friendly which was presented before election and the
other will be party friendly (ruling party) which is secretly created in mind
some time after election when citizens forget all the promises. Once we become aware and responsible towards
our nation then politicians will do Politics only and no one will dare to turn
it into ‘Pollute-Tricks’.
