Yes, you are reading it right, I am talking about a crime for
which you will not land up in jail until and unless you are directly involved
in it. In our busy life we became so selfish that we don’t want to think
anything else. Something happens in front of our eyes and we ignore it and
don’t care how it is affecting our society. We blame all things on govt. that
it is not acting, but how can any govt. act as long as citizens are not aware
and don’t report the crimes (whether it’s criminal or social) and ignore it
just because we are personally affected by that.
Our “who cares” attitude is big hurdle in the nations
progress. Why we don’t act when some goons publically beat some one? Why we
don’t act when we see someone taking bribe or doing corruption? Why we don’t
act when officials don’t perform their duties? These are some of the situation
where we ignore all the things until we are affected. And when we are in this
type of situation then others have same ignorance attitude and we blame all
things to govt system. We all find our self in some of this situation at many
occasions and Ignorance is the biggest factor that encourages these crimes to
prevail in our society. Ignorance encourages the person or group who want to
disturb the peace of the society. So indirectly we are giving encouragement to
the criminals to do these crimes because they know that we will not raise our
voice against them.
For the development of the nation the awareness in citizens
play main role. When we become aware and start raising our voice, govt will
automatically take actions against all those crime which get acknowledged. Now
many questions arise in mind, some of them are:
How to react to the
situation?
Whether I should start social service now and leave my job?
How only one person can bring the change?
There are many
questions that arise in mind. So before negativity start overcoming your mind
again you do the crime of ignorance, let’s go through an example which will be
helpful for you to get some answers coming in your mind.
Assume 2 friends are going on drive and they stop at tea
stall for some refreshment. One 11-12 yrs boy comes with tea and some snacks
which is their order. After completing and paying the bill they resume their
drive and go back home. Now whets the point of telling this story?
I want to ask you whether those boys had done any crime. All
of us will say no. But they had done the crime of ignorance. They had
indirectly played some part in encouraging child labor and every person who go
there and do same thing are encouraging child labor in some way. In the same
way we also find us in the same situation so many times but ignore this thing
and encouraging some type of crime. It doesn’t mean that we should go and fight
with the owner of stall for practicing child labor. There are many other ways
to act in this type of situation. But awareness plays the major role, if we
truly want our nation to succeed.
If you find yourself in above situation, act smartly. Refuse
to get service by child worker and move to another place. If everyone will do
same way then automatically the owner will change the worker and hire some
adult because no one will run business in loss.
Secondly, if possible report it to local NGO which works for child
welfare and they will look into the matter. But some time it is not possible
because you are out of your locality, then also don’t worry, you can still
contribute in this cause. What you can do, whenever u see any child worker near
your home then try to raise your voice and get it noticed with the relevant
organization who works for this cause. And also never encourage child labor by
getting served by them in office, restaurant, etc. If we become aware and start encouraging
others also to do so, then all children in this nation will have smile on their
face.
This is the only one issue but there are many more also
which can be totally abolished if we will not ignore them. Our small
contribution and acting in right direction can add lot in nation’s development.
It will also give immense pleasure to our heart. So you can contribute in
nation’s progress in anyway but only one appeal I have don’t do the crime of
IGNORANCE again.
